Baltimore Ravens head coach Jesse Minter scoffed at the NFL Top 100 List, revealing he texted Lamar Jackson right after it was released.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson had a huge plummet on the NFL Top 100 Players list, falling from No. 2 in 2025 to No. 69 in 2026. The freefall left many reeling, and it also drummed up more ideas that the signal caller is somehow a lesser player following his 2025 struggles.

Either way, Ravens head coach Jesse Minter was asked about the list, and he scoffed at the idea that Jackson had fallen so far.

"There may not even be one other player in the league better than Lamar, let alone 68 players in the league better than Lamar. There's nobody we'd rather have as our quarterback," Minter said.

Minter may be saying what head coaches are supposed to say, but there is some confusing criticism that continues to follow Jackson.

Granted, the 2025 season saw Jackson suffer more than he typically has. A hamstring injury knocked him out for two games, and additional ailments led to an underwhelming performance of 2,549 passing yards, 21 touchdowns, seven interceptions, 349 rushing yards, and two touchdowns.

Just a year previously, Jackson secured 4,172 yards, 41 touchdowns, four interceptions, 915 rushing yards, and four rushing touchdowns. He came second in MVP voting, nearly picking up his third of his career.

A down year leading to that big of a fall for any one player seems a bit suspect, which is why Minter laughed at the idea that the Ravens passer should somehow be ranked that low.

Minter also pointed to Jackson likely not caring about the list and wanting to just win games instead, which makes perfect sense.

"There's going to be a lot of quarterbacks on the list at this time that are ahead of him, which, however they come up with that, I'm not really sure ... I don't think he worries about that. I think he wants to win. I think he wants to win big," Minter said.

Minter then goes into the text exchange that he shared with Jackson regarding the ranking, but he did not reveal what was said. The Baltimore head coach also pointed to Kyle Hamilton's ranking, indicating he clearly does not agree with many of the players who have been ranked thus far.

Regardless, the Ravens are likely not concerned with lists or rankings and are instead looking to bounce back from an 8-9 year that led to a playoff miss. The last time that occurred was in the 2021 season.

Jackson and the rest of the team are fully healthy and set to start training camp under Minter, who will also be a first-time NFL head coach. They have bigger things to worry about, such as returning to being a threat in the AFC and AFC North.

With Jackon in the building, the chances of that happening are far more likely.
