After undergoing surgery, Stetson Wright is back once again and is back in dominating shape. He proved this to be true in Canby, Oregon.
Stetson Wright didn't need much time off to heal, and he is back to his winning ways once again. After undergoing surgery, the World Champion is back on the road and already finding his kind of success once again. His big comeback happened in Hermiston, Oregon at the Farm City Pro Rodeo. Since then, he has not slowed down.
Another big statement from the Utah cowboy came in Canby, Oregon.
Wright won more than $7,000 in the saddle bronc riding, putting together an 89.5-point ride on Calgary Stampede's Einstein Quest to take the championship. He also came back in the bull riding and tied for sixth with an 86-point ride.
Wright had spent time away from competition after injuries caught up with him during a rough stretch leading into the Calgary Stampede. After several get offs that were not too user friendly, Wright was bucked off in Calgary's championship round and suffered a separated shoulder along with a torn meniscus and PCL in his knee.
Surgery followed, and so did a short stretch away from the road. At the time, Wright made it clear that he expected to be back very soon per usual. He also looked at the time away differently, embracing the opportunity to spend time with his family and his daughter, Kingsley, while recovering.
Stetson is back again and is looking forward to battling for his 11th, 12th, and 13th World Championship this December.
He is currently fifth in the PRCA bull riding world standings, sitting behind four talented young cowboys, including two rookies who have made a major impact on the 2026 race. In saddle bronc riding, Wright is third right now behind his older brothers Rusty and Ryder Wright.
Stetson has already won five All Around World Championships, and is sitting number 1 again now. He nearly has this years All Around title wrapped up as long as he stays healthy.
Wright has his work cut out for him in both of his events though. There are a lot of talented guys who are fighting for the gold buckles, and are very capable.
Wright has been in this position before. He has made comebacks before, and he has been on the chase before. Pressure does not get to Wright, he thrives in those situations. We are likely to see quite the show this year in Vegas.
Canby, Oregon was a good push in the standings for Wright, and proved again that he is "healthy, wealthy, handsome, and happy"
