It was a star-studded lineup at the Caldwell Night Rodeo, with many of rodeo’s top names adding significant checks to their season earnings.
The Caldwell Night Rodeo delivered strong performances across the board, with several of ProRodeo’s top competitors finding success throughout the event.
In bareback riding, No. 3-ranked Jess Pope won the average with 177.5 points on two head. Pope opened the rodeo with an 88-point ride on Yule Rodeo’s Cloud Nine before scoring 89.5 points in the finals. Jayco Roper finished second with 176.5 points, while Jacek Frost placed third with 176 points.
J.D. Struxness topped the steer wrestling average with a two-head time of 7.2 seconds. Struxness got off to a fast start with a 3.5-second win in the first round and followed it with a second-place 3.7-second run in the finals. Traver Johnson finished second in the average with 7.8 seconds, while Will Lummus and current world standings leader Tyler Waguespack tied for third with a pair of 8.0-second averages.
Team ropers Nelson Wyatt and Jonathan Torres captured the average title with a three-head time of 15.4 seconds. Tanner Tomlinson and Wesley Thorp finished second with an average time of 15.9 seconds, followed by Jake Smith and Douglas Rich’s 16.4. Kaleb Driggers and Junior Nogueira finished fourth in the average, and thanks to their strong showing have officially moved to No. 1 in the world standings.
Zachary Dallas dominated the saddle bronc riding, winning both the first round and the finals for an average of 182 points on two head. The win vaulted Dallas into the No. 15 spot in the world standings. Rusty Wright regained his lead in the world standings after tying for second with Sage Newman with 179.5 points. Ryder Wright finished fourth with 179 points, followed by Ben Anderson’s 178 and Kade Bruno’s 177.5.
In tie-down roping, Ty Harris took the average win by nearly a full second with a two-head time of 15.2 seconds. Trenton Smith and Cash Hooper tied for second with a pair of 16.1-second averages, while Bryce Derrer finished fourth with 16.3 seconds.
Andrea Busby won the barrel racing average with a two-run time of 33.74 seconds. Tricia Aldridge finished just five-hundredths of a second behind Busby with a 33.79-second average, and Heidi Gunderson finished third with 33.96 seconds.
Breakaway roping saw Shelby Boisjoli-Meged take home the average title after a two-head time of 4.5 seconds. Taylor Engesser finished second with 5.0 seconds, and her sister Rickie Engesser finished third with 5.2 seconds.
Noah Lee continued his remarkable 2026 season with a winning 91-point ride on Powder River Rodeo’s Jackie Moon in the bull riding. The victory pushed his season earnings past the $300,000 mark, further extending his lead at the top of the world standings. No. 2-ranked Tristen Hutchings finished second with a 90-point ride, followed by Colton Young’s 89 point ride.
