Filip Kostić is hoping to make his long-awaited PSV debut against FC Groningen next Sunday. The experienced Serbian winger has returned to full team training and is ready to discuss his availability with Peter Bosz.
Filip Kostić is edging closer to his first appearance for PSV after joining the Eindhoven club from Juventus earlier this month.
The 33-year-old Serbian arrived on a free transfer and signed a contract with PSV through 2028. However, his start in Eindhoven has been delayed by administrative and fitness issues.
Kostić did not have a work permit in time to feature against Fortuna Sittard in the 2-2 draw, while he was also left out of the squad for the 2-1 victory over Excelsior because Peter Bosz felt the newcomer had not trained sufficiently.
Now, the left-footer is targeting a debut against a familiar opponent.
Kostić Ready To Return
PSV host FC Groningen next Sunday, giving Kostić the opportunity to make his first competitive appearance for the club against his former employer.
Speaking to ESPN as quoted by PSV Inside, the Serbian expressed his excitement at finally being able to train regularly with his new teammates.
"I’m happy to be here again after a long time and to train with the team. I’m looking forward to it and can’t wait to play," Kostić said.
The former Juventus player has already made clear that he wants to contribute as quickly as possible, although the final decision will rest with Bosz.

Kostić is hopeful of getting minutes against Groningen, but stopped short of confirming that he will be involved.
"I still don't know if I'm ready to play; I need to discuss that with the coach. I think I can get minutes," he said.
The experienced winger is prepared for whatever role Bosz gives him.
"If the coach decides it’s 90 minutes, I’ll play all 90," Kostić added.
For PSV, Kostić's return to full training provides another option on the left flank as Bosz continues to shape his side during the early stages of the season.
The Serbian brings extensive experience from his spells with Stuttgart, Hamburg, Eintracht Frankfurt and Juventus, and PSV recruited him as the desired successor to Anass Salah-Eddine.
Whether Kostić makes his first appearance against Groningen will now depend on his discussions with Bosz and the coach's assessment of his physical condition. After two weeks of waiting, the new PSV signing could finally be ready to make his competitive debut in Eindhoven.
