Defying injury setbacks, Peter Bosz looks to utilise his squad depth to maintain momentum, integrating teenage sensation Shuryjano Cornecion while seeking tactical solutions against a skilled Heerenveen side.

Peter Bosz insists PSV will look for solutions rather than excuses as they prepare to face SC Heerenveen, with the head coach refusing to label his current striker situation a problem.

Speaking on the eve of Friday night's Eredivisie clash, Bosz also confirmed that teenage talent Shuryjano Cornecion will join the first-team group and take his place on the bench against Heerenveen.

Bosz Refuses to Call Striker Situation a Problem

PSV have been dealing with a disrupted squad following the international break, while injuries have also affected their options in attack.

But Bosz believes the situation should be viewed as a challenge rather than a problem.

“I don’t talk about problems; I see it as a challenge. A challenge we also faced last year.”

The PSV coach pointed to last season as evidence that his team can adapt when key options are unavailable.

“And back then, we found a great solution that worked. We hope we’ve found one again this time. So that’s what we’re going to work on.”

Bosz also rejected the idea that PSV's success depends on having the same 11 players available every week.

“We don’t have eleven starters, there are many more. Now it’s up to those guys to prove that’s true.”

He remains confident in the depth within his squad.

“I’m convinced they’ll do it. We simply have a lot of quality.”

For Bosz, injuries can also create opportunities for players who have been waiting for their chance.

“Opportunities like this often give guys a chance, so that’s when you have to prove yourself.”

Cornecion Handed First-Team Opportunity

One player who has now received that opportunity is Shuryjano Cornecion.

Bosz confirmed that the young attacker will join first-team training and will be included on the bench against Heerenveen.

The coach stressed that the decision was not simply a consequence of injuries.

“Not just because of the injuries, I was going to do that anyway.”

Bosz believes Cornecion has the potential to eventually establish himself at PSV's highest level.

“Shuryjano is joining us. This is a young player who I believe can eventually reach the level of PSV’s first team.”

The youngster had already impressed during the opening weeks of the campaign and was part of the squad at the start of the season.

“He has the potential for that, and that potential is very important to us.”

Cornecion will continue to receive playing time with the youth team while training regularly with Bosz's senior squad.

“He’ll still get his playing time with the youth team, but I’m going to have him train with us from now on.”

Bosz: Heerenveen Have Quality Across the Team

Bosz expects a demanding test against Heerenveen, highlighting the quality throughout Robin Veldman's squad.

“They have several strengths. I think they’re a team that plays good football.”

He added that PSV cannot afford to underestimate their opponents at the Philips Stadion.

“If you look at the lineup, they simply have a skilled football player in every position. So we’ll have to play our very best to beat Heerenveen at home.”

The international break has also tested Bosz's patience, with PSV not having their full squad together until shortly before the match.

He admitted that three weeks without his players in the middle of a season is unusual, but accepted that the schedule was partly of PSV's own making.

“That’s the international schedule we have to deal with. The point is that we ourselves requested to play this Friday, due to the UEFA Champions League. So no, you shouldn’t complain.”

There are no new injuries, although Bosz will assess Sergiño Dest and Ivan Perišić after both played on Tuesday.

“We’ll just check in with them: how was it, how did it go, how are you feeling? Then we’ll make that decision together.”

For PSV, the message from Bosz is straightforward: adapt, trust the squad and use the opportunities created by an increasingly demanding schedule.
