Real Madrid have already made their mark this summer. The likes of Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konate, Bernardo Silva and Denzel Dumfries are expected to turn out in the Royal White jersey from next season.

This is not the end of the road though. It looks like Real Madrid are eager to add more players to their squad.

In fact, the biggest signing might not even have been made so far. Let's not forget, there was the promise of a €150 million offer.

It was made for Julian Alvarez. But there has always been speculation that he was not the real top target for the club.

Instead, it was reported to be Michael Olise. The Frenchman could potentially be the best player in the world right now in terms of sheer quality. But Bayern Munich seem adamant that they won't part ways with a Ballon d'Or contender.

Kylian Mbappe would surely want to play with his French national teammate at Real Madrid though. And that is one of the signings that could actually take this side to the next level.

Now, according to MARCA, Real Madrid still have the €150 million ready, but signing Olise away from Bayern Munich could cost significantly more. In fact, the club could push the bid beyond €200 million, potentially up to €220 million.

The current transfer record is the €222 million that PSG paid to sign Neymar from Barcelona. So, if Real Madrid do make an offer of that magnitude, it would be a statement of intent.

More importantly, it would show a level of ambition that even Real Madrid have not in the past. It is hard to believe that Olise was playing at Crystal Palace just a couple of years ago.

It remains to be seen if they do end up making a move for Olise this summer or not. Even if they offer €220 million, it would not be a simple operation, especially after the public stance that Bayern Munich have taken.

At the end of the day, in modern football, it is the footballers who decide where they want to play. And if Olise pushes for a move to Real Madrid, that would make things a lot more interesting. Will he do that? That is the big question.

As things stand, one would not exactly expect the Olise transfer to happen this summer. But reports like this are going to raise the hopes of the supporters, that is for sure.
