The departure of Ruben Amorim from the Manchester United managerial position would not be the solution to the club's problems and, on the contrary, speculation suggests it could trigger a domino effect.
This comes after reports emerged in the English press that Bruno Fernandes is reportedly fed up with the situation at Old Trafford, meaning his departure at the end of the current season could now materialize.
According to The Sun, teammates of the Portuguese midfielder claim that nothing ties him to Manchester United anymore, as it was Amorim who convinced him not to leave for the Saudi league.
Fernandes has been pursued for three seasons by clubs from that league, who have reportedly placed offers exceeding $130 million on the table.
All of this follows the player's statements a couple of months ago, where he claimed the club's executives tried to sell him without his consent, leaving him feeling "sad and hurt."
Consequently, all signs point to the Portuguese player currently playing his final matches for Manchester United, with his departure appearing imminent next summer.
Manager Ruben Amorim had emphasized that Manchester United would not make new signings in January unless there was "common ground" between him and football director Jason Wilcox on which players would improve the team.
The Red Devils continue to be linked with some names, including several midfielders. But now, with Amorim gone, the plan could change. We will have to wait.
