Fraser Forster has signed a new one-year contract with AFC Bournemouth, extending his stay until the end of the 2026/27 campaign. The experienced goalkeeper impressed behind the scenes after joining in January and remains part of the Cherries' plans as they prepare for Europa League football.
AFC Bournemouth have confirmed veteran goalkeeper Fraser Forster has signed a new one-year contract, extending his stay at the Vitality Stadium until the end of the 2026/27 season.
The 38-year-old initially joined the Cherries on a short-term deal in January and has now been rewarded with a longer stay after impressing off the pitch during the second half of last season.
Forster's name was included earlier this month on the club's retained list of players offered fresh terms, signalling Bournemouth's desire to keep hold of the experienced goalkeeper as they continue to shape their squad for another campaign that will include UEFA Europa League football.
While Forster did not make a first-team appearance following his arrival, he was named in four Premier League matchday squads and became an influential figure within the dressing room. His experience proved valuable to Bournemouth's goalkeeping group as Andoni Iraola's side finished sixth in the Premier League, keeping six clean sheets in their final 19 league matches while conceding just 19 goals.
A Strong Goalkeeping Department
His new deal comes despite Bournemouth already having Djordje Petrovic and Alex Paulsen on their books, while the club has also been linked with a move for Greek goalkeeper Christos Mandas.
Homegrown goalkeeper Will Dennis, who spent the latter half of last season on loan at Leyton Orient, could also remain part of the squad, particularly with UEFA's homegrown registration requirements set to come into play in European competition.
