Player Ratings: Bournemouth STILL Winless After Defeat At Home To Liverpool

Andoni Iraola enjoyed a winning return to Vitality Stadium as Liverpool edged out Bournemouth in a tight encounter, leaving the Cherries to reflect on a game where they struggled to find the clinical touch in both boxes. Here’s how each Bournemouth player rated on the day....

Following on from a player of the match performance in San Sebastian, the Cherries stopper wasn't tested half as much in this one. Not much he could do about the goal and Petro looked comfortable for the majority. 7/10

Led out the side once again and got through 75 minutes in a typically determined fashion. Dealt with Liverpool's summer signing Bradley Barcola pretty well throughout. 7/10

A really strong showing from the exciting centre back, winning countless duels and making decisive last ditch tackles and blocks. Edges the player of the match award over his centre half partner Antonio Silva. 9/10

As with his fellow centre back James Hill, the Portuguese defender was pretty flawless on the day. The Bournemouth summer signing continues to be at ease with the ball, and a wall off it.  9/10

The usually consistent left back had a difficult time, getting beat far too easily by Cody Gakpo in the build up to Liverpool's goal. 6/10

A solid enough showing from the American destroyer, albeit he's clearly struggling as the game wears on and needs to build up those fitness levels fast. 7/10

The bar is so high for Alex right now, particular after his call up to the England squad. A typically classy first half performance, but Andoni and Liverpool clearly worked on stopping Scott in the second, and done it rather effectively. 8/10

Ryan was brought into the starting line up for this one, following an injury blow to Netherlands attacker Justin Kluivert. Christie was energetic and tenacious but perhaps struggled to dictate the game as much in a more advanced role. 7/10

It's been an impressive start to the season for Tav, but he failed to meet those heights in this encounter, really struggling to impact the game. 7/10

Once again the Brazilian couldn't live up to the hype that's been surrounding the youngster. Up against former Cherries man Milos Kerkez, the winger failed to cause Milos enough problems before being substituted. 6/10

Had Bournemouth's best chance of the game in the first half, but was expertly denied by Allison in the Liverpool goal. Eva will be hoping his undeniable work ethic will result in some goals after the break. 7/10

Sadly for the Cherries the substitutes failed to make too much of an impression on the game, as Liverpool saw out the game in pretty comfortable fashion. Trio Lewis Cook, Daniel Jebbison and David Brooks were all introduced on 75 minutes and done fine without changing the flow of the game. Both Ben Gannon-Doak and Alex Toth were brought on in the dying embers, with barely any time to make a significant impact.
