Plenty to be encouraged by, but another late goal has left Bournemouth wondering what might have been. Many shone for the Cherries in an eventful but somewhat frustrating first Premier League home game of the season.

Djordje Petrovic
Bournemouth's number one very much kept the game goalless for so long with some smart reaction shots. After a parry he reacted wonderfully to prevent Barry from opening the scoring, and also made a stunning stop from a Branthwaite header. Big performance. 9/10
Adam Smith
Another reliable and disciplined performance from the Cherries skipper despite Tyrique George being a handful throughout. 7/10
James Hill
Decent showing from the centre back on the whole as he still develops his new partnership at the back with new signing Antonio Silva. 7/10
Antonio Silva
The early signs are good for the Portuguese defender. Continuing to show real composure both with and without the ball. 8/10
Adrien Truffert
Fast becoming not only one of the first names on the Bournemouth team sheet, but also one of their most consistent and standout performers. Top all round display from the French full back. 8/10
Lewis Cook
A much improved performance from Lewis in the heart of the Cherries midfield. Knitted things together expertly and you could argue Bournemouth lost some control following his substitution. 8/10
Alex Scott
Without doubt the player of the match, as faultless a performance as you can get. Not only did Alex open the scoring but his class whenever he received the ball was outstanding, and his work off it was equally impressive. A true delight to watch and Bournemouth could well do with that transfer window shutting, you'd be surprised if someone doesn't try and tempt the Cherries resolve once more. 10/10

Marcus Tavernier
Not as electric as last week but Tavernier still gives Bournemouth plenty in and out of possession. Will be frustrated nothing quite came off for him in those key moments. 7/10
Rayan
As always the Brazilian showed plenty of moments but they didn't come as often as he and the team would have liked. Missed a couple of big chances to kill the game off, still plenty to be excited about. 6/10
Justin Kluivert
Another really underwhelming game for Justin, really struggling to have any major impact on the game. He improved in the second period, but he'll certainly be hoping something drops for him soon or his starting place could be under threat. 6/10
Evanilson
Lead the line with a real confidence and swagger at times, playing a crucial part in Bournemouth's only goal. Will be annoyed he couldn't bag that all important second goal mind. 8/10
It was another game where it felt the substitutes lost that bit of control the Cherries seemingly had in the game. Both Tyler Adams and David Brooks did fine but Ryan Christie and Alvaro Rodriguez had cameo's to forget. Christie was involved in a mix up with Tavernier for the Everton leveller and Rodriguez conspired to lose the ball whenever he got it, the latter being a surprise sub considering how well Daniel Jebbison did in replacing Evanilson at the Ethiad last week.
