Kasper Hogh has not officially even become a Celtic player yet and the club seem to have agreed another signing already.
Celtic fans have been left frustrated by how slow the club have moved in the transfer market this summer. Unfortunately, that is not a rare sight either and seems to be repeated pretty much every year. So far, only one addition has been made, Camilo Duran from Qarabag, who has already made an impact in pre-season.
Fortunately, it does look like the Hoops have finally picked up some pace over the past few days. They have agreed on a club-record fee to bring Kasper Hogh in from Bodo/Glimt.
A lot of people did not give Celtic a chance of pulling it off after the season Hogh had, scoring against Manchester City, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan in the Champions League.
That Hogh signing is not even official yet. But already, it looks like Celtic have their next one lined up and have had an offer accepted.
Celtic offer accepted as next signing looks set
According to George Tsarouchas, after Hogh, Celtic are set to finalise another signing with Haissem Hassan.
The Egyptian winger has accepted the offer from Celtic for a 4-year contract and Real Oviedo are also ready to give permission. There are some bonuses that are still under negotiation.
So, all things considered, it looks like this is another deal that is going to be completed in the near future.
It will be very interesting to see what kind of a transfer fee it takes to complete the signing. Hassan is believed to have a release clause in the region of £10 million in his contract with Real Oviedo, owing to their relegation to the second division in Spain.
Also, it is noteworthy that this is the final year of his contract at Real Oviedo. So, the club must be keen to find him a new home.
Why Haissem Hassan could be an excellent signing for Celtic
Hassan's stats from last season are not the most inspiring. He had zero goals and three assists to his name as Real Oviedo ended up getting relegated.
That being said, it is not easy to show your best qualities while playing for the team at the bottom of the table.
If you look at the underlying numbers though, there was still a lot to like about Hassan, which is what Celtic must be looking at as well.
Hassan was in the 96th percentile for successful dribbles, the 91st percentile for duels won and the 90th percentile for accurate long balls in La Liga. He was also in the 87th percentile for tackles and the 85th percentile for possessions won in the final third.
At the end of the day, his electric performances at the World Cup for Egypt must have been the clincher.
