It looks like another player wants to join Celtic, who have recently agreed deals for Haissem Hassan and Mika Baur.
When it rains, it pours. That seems to be the case with Celtic for sure. The Hoops have agreed two deals in quick succession.
Haissem Hassan is set to arrive from Real Oviedo after a deal was agreed following weeks of negotiations. It is believed that he has already completed his medical.
Also, news broke earlier today that Celtic had found an agreement with Paderborn for the transfer of Mika Baur, who had agreed personal terms with the Hoops weeks back.
Both signings are expected to be completed in time for them to be available for Celtic's Champions League qualifier against LASK.
At the same time, it looks like a third player is now eager on a move to Celtic and is pushing to make it happen this summer.
Midfielder pushing to join Celtic from Premiership rivals
According to CeltsAreHere, Miguel Chaiwa is pushing for a move to Celtic. Hibernian’s £4 million asking price is set to be lowered.
Chaiwa's camp have told CeltsAreHere: “Celtic is a big club and you don't turn that down. The player wants to go there.”
Chaiwa is 22 years of age and has been at Hibernian for only a year, having joined last summer. But that brief spell has been enough to catch the eye of Celtic.
Chaiwa has been linked with Celtic going back to the winter transfer window. Could a move finally happen in this summer?
What would Chaiwa bring to the table?
Signing Chaiwa would mean bringing in a proven player in the Scottish Premiership and there would not be any question marks over his adjustment to the league.
That being said, Celtic have had problems when it comes to defensive midfielders. It has been a long time since they found the right and consistent role for one in the team.
The one who came closer was Tomoki Iwata, another one of Ange Postecoglou's signings from the J-League. He made a decent number of starts but ultimately left for Birmingham City, where he has been fantastic.
Other than that, Ismaila Soro also had a short spell as a starter but it quickly became clear that he was not a long-term answer for Celtic.
Oliver Abildgaard spent time on loan at Celtic but it had to be cut short in the middle due to a lack of opportunities.
If Celtic do end up signing Chaiwa, there is no guarantee that he will get enough playing time. Is that a risk he is willing to take? Or would this also turn out to be another one of those short-term signings who ends up leaving some time later in search of more playing time?
