Anthony Joseph has dropped some late-night Celtic transfer news that the supporters will love.

The Celtic board have drawn their fair share of criticism for what has been another frustrating summer transfer window for the club's supporters. But they do seem to be getting things right lately.

Kasper Hogh's hat-trick at the weekend would have gone a long way in curbing the doubts that had arisen as a result of his disappointing debut the week before.

Camilo Duran got himself an assist as well, although, it still feels like he is going to be more effective centrally than on the right.

As for that right flank, it looks like Celtic have got their answer. Their next summer signing is on the verge of completion.

Celtic set to complete signing

It had always felt like a matter of time before the deal was over the line. And it looks like the final hurdle has now been cleared as well.

According to Anthony Joseph, Hassan has completed a medical in London ahead of his £9 million transfer move to Celtic.

It’s understood the Egypt international is due to travel to Glasgow to finalise the paperwork on a four-year contract. Celtic also have the option to extend the deal by a further year.

There is now some clarity on how much money Celtic are shelling out to make the deal happen. The clubs have agreed an initial fee of around £6 million. There is a further £3 million in add-ons.

It feels like a win-win situation for both clubs if Hassan ends up doing well in Celtic colours. Of course, that is no guarantee.

Hassan might be an excellent signing

Hassan was tremendous at the World Cup, particularly in that appearance against Lionel Messi's Argentina as Egypt lost out by the slimmest of margins.

Many had thought that just that display would have been enough to catch the eye of other clubs and Celtic would be priced out of a deal. Fortunately, that has not happened.

It feels like only a matter of days, if not hours, before Hassan is announced as a new Celtic player. He is going to be their third addition this window.

At the same time though, one cannot overlook the bigger picture when it comes to Hassan. His 25/26 season was not particularly impressive.

He did not score a single goal and only provided three assists as Real Oviedo finished bottom of the table and were relegated from La Liga.

Hassan will need to be a lot more impactful than that if he wants to have a long-term future in the Celtic first-team.
