Celtic have made an important announcement regarding their upcoming Scottish Cup final against Dunfermline Athletic.
With the Scottish Cup final less than two weeks ago, Celtic still have a lot of meaningful football left to play this season. Of course, that is always the position that fans want the club to be in.
Celtic are still in the title race. Remarkably, Hearts are the ones leading in what is now a two-horse race for the Premiership. Rangers will finish trophyless again despite investing about £40 million into the squad this season.
Celtic have two games left in the league. An away trip to Motherwell followed by a home game against Hearts on the final day of the season. It almost feels like a Hollywood script at this point.
Celtic do have their destiny in their own hands after this weekend's set of results. If they win their two remaining league games, they will be champions of Scotland. Of course, that is going to be easier said than done. But the Hoops need to back themselves after clawing back to get into this position.
On the last day of the Scottish season, Celtic will face a very different kind of test. They will face Dunfermline Athletic side in the Scottish Cup final.
So, Martin O'Neill will be managing for most probably the last time in a cup final, against a team managed by none other than Neil Lennon. Does it get better than that?
There is some information regarding the tickets for that upcoming Scottish Cup final as well, as many fans might have been wondering about the situation.
According to CeltsAreHere, the club have confirmed that tickets will go on sale from 10 am on Tuesday, May 12, online only.
Allocation of tickets has been balloted among season ticket holders on the Home Cup Ticket Scheme. Emails were sent to fans who were successful in the ballot on May 11.
Of course, Celtic are expected to have strong support at Hampden Park again, and hopefully, they will be playing for a double on that day.
Celtic's recent trips to Hampden Park for finals have not been the most fruitful, to be honest.
They lost the Scottish Cup final last year at the hands of Aberdeen on penalties. That was followed by a one-sided 3-1 League Cup final defeat at the hands of St Mirren earlier this season. It was during the period when Wilfried Nancy was the manager of the side. One can only wonder how things would have turned out if O'Neill had just continued on.
