Celtic will be looking to complete the double this weekend when they take to the Hampden Park pitch in the Scottish Cup final. Standing in their way will be a familiar face. A Dunfermline Athletic side managed by Neil Lennon.

Of course, a lot of people might be underestimating the Championship side. But they have gotten the better of plenty of Premiership opponents on their way to this final. So, Celtic cannot afford to take them lightly.

It is safe to say that Celtic will be the favourites. But that was the case in their previous two final appearances at Hampden Park as well. And they lost both times.

Coming out of the Scottish Cup final talk for a moment, there is some further good news for Celtic heading into the weekend.

According to the club's official website, Yang Hyun-jun has signed a new contract with Celtic. It will see him remain with the club until 2030.

This has been quite the turnaround for Yang. Not too long ago, it had looked like he did not have a future at Celtic at all.

In fact, he was on the verge of joining Birmingham City and had even travelled to England to complete the move, only for Celtic to pull the plug in the final steps.

Fortunately, they did, because Yang has been a revelation for Celtic this season. He has easily been one of the club's best performers, often rising to the occasion as well, and scoring more than once against the Rangers in the ongoing campaign.

That has seen him grow in importance and gradually establish himself as a nailed-on starter on the flanks. That is a position that he is expected to hold on to for a little while, with the Hoops lack of quality options on the wings.

It goes without saying that it is the right step on the part of the club to hand Yang a new contract after how well he has done. It is also a reminder that just because a player does not start well at Parkhead does not mean that he does not possess the quality required to succeed in Glasgow. It is just that some need a bit more time to adapt, especially those coming in from a completely different league and culture.

The news of Yang's contract is another small boost for Celtic heading into the Scottish Cup final against Dunfermline Athletic.

If this is indeed going to be Martin O'Neill's last game as manager, the players must do their best to send him off into retirement with another trophy in his cabinet. Let's see if Yang can make his presence felt in the final or not.
