The Celtic player has quietly completed a move away from Parkhead, as his new club announced the move.

Celtic are riding high at the moment following their win in the Champions League qualification play-off first leg against LASK. This has raised expectations that the club will finally end their nightmare run in the qualification phase of the competition and make it into the main phase.

If Celtic are able to see out the second leg against LASK successfully and qualify for the Champions League, it could mean some more quality signings in the final few days of the summer transfer window.

It has already been suggested that Gvidas Gineitis is someone Celtic will sign if they secure Champions League football, and the financial boost that comes with it.

On the other hand, the exits have continued at Parkhead. A winger has become the latest to depart in search of first-team football at the senior level.

Scottish club announce loan signing of Celtic player

Ayr United have announced the signing of Thomas Hatton, with the signing of 20-year-old winger joining on loan from Celtic until the end of the season.

Hatton has been a standout at the B team level for Celtic. He has scored 10 goals and provided four assists in 32 appearances.

But ultimately, at 20 years of age, he has not been handed his debut by the club. He needs to be playing senior football somewhere at this point in his career though.

So, a loan move made a ton of sense. It remains to be seen how he does at Ayr United and things can be worked upon from there.

If Hatton does well for Ayr United, perhaps a loan to a Premiership club could be next in his developmental path.

Obviously, Ayr United themselves will be looking to earn promotion. And if they are successful in doing that, Hatton could simply continue in familiar surroundings.

What does the future hold for Hatton?

The ultimate goal has to be playing for Celtic. But so many of the club's youngsters go out on loan but never end up achieving that.

So, it would be thinking too far into the future. For now, it is about Hatton going out on loan to the Championship and finding his feet in the senior game.

The next steps can be decided upon later, depending on how things go for him at Ayr United. But not before that.

We can only wish Hatton the best of luck in this new adventure, as he makes his start in senior football.
