The rumours about the Celtic transfer collapse have been addressed after Fabrizio Romano's earlier confirmation on the matter.
Celtic will be looking to make more signings over the next few weeks. So far, they have only made one addition to Martin O'Neill's squad.
Camilo Duran has arrived from Qarabag and looked like a natural goalscorer in pre-season, finding the back of the net three times in as many outings.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has also returned, after an extension was agreed with the former Arsenal and Liverpool man. The club could not do the same with Kelechi Iheanacho.
On the other hand, more positive news is on the horizon as it is believed that a move for Kasper Hogh is not far away.
It is not all good news though, as it looks like another Celtic bid, which would have been a record departure for a German club, has been turned down.
Celtic record bid turned amid transfer collapse fears
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed in the past that Celtic have agreed on personal terms with SC Paderborn midfielder Mika Baur.
But according to CeltsAreHere, a £4 million bid has been turned down. SC Paderborn are asking for well above the market price for their midfielder.
It is also worth noting that the £4 million figure would be a club-record departure for SC Paderborn. But it was not enough to convince them to part ways with Baur, as they look to take on the Bundesliga challenge this summer.
The good news is that the move has not collapsed completely, as some other outlets have suggested. According to the report, Celtic remain locked in negotiations to sign Baur.
Can Celtic complete Mika Baur deal?
The player himself is said to be very keen on a move to Celtic, which could help drive the move to completion. But the Hoops will need to raise their bid.
Of course, SC Paderborn are in a strong position right now. They can turn down a £4 million bid, because they will be playing Bundesliga football this season.
It is worth pointing out that Baur was an integral part of their promotion to the German top flight. But he seems open to passing up on the chance to play in the Bundesliga in order to make the move to Celtic.

One would imagine that Celtic have other midfielders on their radar as well. But the fact that they have gone ahead and agreed on personal terms already does suggest that they are particularly keen on Baur, and he is one of their top picks. Failure to sign him would lead them to exploring alternative options.
