David Ornstein has dropped some transfer news that will go down well with Celtic supporters.

Fans will want to see Celtic sign some quality players this summer. It remains to be seen if they are successful in doing that. From what we have seen so far, it does not look like the transfer policy has changed much, despite the struggles from last season and the continuous weakening of the squad since the departure of Ange Postecoglou.

Celtic seem to be looking to sign players from the same leagues, like they always do. In the same transfer valuation range as well. And as a result, it is hard to imagine that the results are going to be drastically different.

Of course, it is not going to be about just signing the right players. They must try their hardest when it comes to keeping their best around as well. And there is some positive news in that regard.

David Ornstein Update is Good News for Celtic

For a little while now, Arne Engels has looked like one of the likeliest candidates to leave Celtic this summer.

He was on the receiving end of a £25 million offer in the winter, believed to have been from Nottingham Forest.

Now, Elliot Anderson is set to leave Nottingham Forest for Manchester City in a £116 million deal. Naturally, they will look for a replacement.

A report from Sacha Tavolieri on June 17, Nottingham Forest saw the Belgian as an ideal profile to replace Anderson and wanted to re-enter the race after a previous attempt to sign him in January.

But now, according to a report from David Ornstein in The Athletic, Nottingham Forest have identified Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Bergvall as a potential replacement for Anderson.

Of course, that does not guarantee that Nottingham Forest don't have an eye on Engels and won't make a move. But at the very least, it appears that they have others on their radar as well.

Considering Bergvall's Premier League experience, one would imagine that he is higher on their transfer list than Engels as well.

It would be safe to assume that most Celtic fans would want to see Engels remain at the club beyond this summer. Over time, he has won over the supporters.

Engels might not be the kind of player who provides a lot of goals and assists. But he is certainly someone who can have a winning impact on a team.

Some players just make a team better. And it feels like Engels is one such player for Celtic.

Just look at last season. Celtic were struggling for any kind of consistency but after Engels returned from injury, they immediately went on an eight-game winning run to end the season with a league and cup double against all odds and expectations.
