The Celtic-linked French striker has decided which club he will be joining in the summer transfer window.
Celtic must be looking to add to their striker ranks this summer. Daizen Maeda went on a Henrik Larsson-esque run towards the end of last season but is widely expected to leave this summer.
On top of that, there is a chance that Kelechi Iheanacho might depart as well. It has been suggested that he wants to stay but Celtic have not taken up the option to extend his contract yet. And there were rumours lately that Vasco da Gama were offered the chance to sign him by his representatives.
Thus, Celtic could find themselves very light on options up top. Callum Osmand has been excellent whenever given a chance, but one cannot forget that he is still just four games deep into his senior career.
So, it is unsurprising that Celtic have been linked with a few strikers already. But it appears that one of them has already slipped away.
According to Sacha Tavolieri, RAAL La Louviere are on the verge of pulling off the signing of Eliat Filet. Despite the competition from bigger clubs, the Frenchman has chosen Edward Still's project.
The journalist suggests that FC Aarau should pocket €600K in the deal. That means that the transfer fee could have been a stumbling block for Celtic in this saga.
There is really no reason for Celtic not to be able to spend €600k to sign a striker. Unless it was Filet who chose the move over Parkhead, there is no excuse for not getting this done.
Celtic need to sign someone of top quality up front. Filet might have been playing in the Swiss second division but he did score 22 goals last season.
One mistake that the Hoops have made quite lately is that they have brought in players who are not in goalscoring touch. Unsurprisingly, they have failed to produce in Glasgow as well.

Two perfect examples of this are Tomas Cvancara and Junior Adamu. Both were struggling before Celtic signed them on loan in the winter transfer window. Nothing changed for them at Parkhead either.
Anyways, it is quite clear that a move for Filet is no longer on the cards for the Hoops. It remains to be seen who they end up targeting next when it comes to the striker spot.
One thing that they should do is bring in someone already playing top division football. Even though Filet had an excellent scoring record last season, there were serious doubts about whether it would translate to life at Parkhead.
The striker is arguably the most important part of the Celtic team. They scored 39 fewer league goals than the previous campaign on this occasion. So, they need someone who will help bridge that gap.
