There is more bad news for Celtic after it emerged that they had accepted a bid to part ways with Daizen Maeda.
Celtic appear to have lost two of their best strikers this summer. Kelechi Iheanacho had already departed after they failed to agree a new contract with him, opting to move to Turkey instead.
Earlier today, news broke that the club had agreed a £10 million bid from Ipswich Town to part ways with Daizen Maeda. And now, there is more bad news for the Hoops.
They had been linked with a striker yesterday. But now, he is already on his way to the MLS instead. That was a transfer saga that did not last for long, that is for sure.
LA Galaxy sign Celtic-linked player one day after reports broke
According to a report from The Athletic, LA Galaxy have signed Japanese striker Kyogo Furuhashi from Birmingham City.
This news has come out of nowhere. It was only yesterday that it was reported that Kyogo was keen on a return to Celtic. Now, he is already set to join LA Galaxy instead.
Now, the reaction of the fans to the news of the Kyogo interest was mixed at best. But let us not forget that the Hoops should look to sign not one but two strikers following the departure of both Maeda and Iheanacho. The initial hope was that at least one of those would have stayed.
Kyogo would have been perfect to fill one of those spots. But unfortunately, the fan favourite won't be making a return to Parkhead.
Celtic also linked with Kasper Hogh
Kasper Hogh is someone who has been linked with a move to Celtic in recent weeks. And to be very honest, the striker could be an excellent signing for the club.
He proved his mettle in the Champions League last season, scoring against several of the top teams in Europe.
Celtic were believed to be keen on signing him in January as well, but a move did not happen back then.

It is not hard to see why Bodo/Glimt might not have been open to the idea back then. After all, they were still in the Champions League and made a historic run in the competition.
Celtic should be hoping that Bodo/Glimt are more open to the idea of a Hogh departure in this summer transfer window. And if they are, the Hoops should not think twice before making their move.
To be fair, Duran has looked good in pre-season so far. And if they can add Hogh to the mix, that looks like an exciting set of strikers up top, with some cover from Callum Osmand.
