It has been confirmed that the La Liga giants are interested in signing the Celtic player this summer.

The summer transfer window always brings with it a few surprises. And this time around, it looks like a La Liga giant has taken an interest in a Celtic winger.

Of course, the Hoops have some quality talents in their ranks. You would expect them to draw interest from clubs in the big five European leagues.

But when it comes to those who have struggled to get into the first-team at Parkhead and have had to head out on loan, that is not the expectation. Yet, it looks like the interest is genuine, although it remains to be seen if a move will materialise.

Celtic's wing options at the moment are not great. Yang Hyun-jun has done well to get his Parkhead career on track, after it had looked like he was one step away from joining Birmingham City last summer. But other than him, the Hoops might not have another in-form winger.

Sebastian Tounekti looked brilliant at the start but quickly faded away. By the end of the campaign, he was one of the players the fans wanted dropped.

Michel-Ange Balikwisha never even found his feet at Celtic and spent most of his time on the bench or out of the matchday squad altogether. The club spent £5 million signing him and might have a tough time coming close to recouping that figure.

Then there is James Forrest. A club icon in every sense of the term, he is considered a cover option at this point in his career and plays that role well. But the Hoops cannot rely on him to be a starter.

Jota has been extremely unlucky and has been out injured for more than a year. He has suffered multiple setbacks during the recovery process and is not expected to return anytime soon.

Despite all this, Luis Palma has found himself out on loan. He has done well at Lech Poznan and that has caught the eye of Sevilla.

According to Alvaro De La Rocha, Sevilla are closely monitoring the situation of Palma. The La Liga club are keeping an eye on the situation between Celtic and Lech Poznan, who are negotiating for the Honduran winger but have yet to reach an agreement.

While there have been no contacts yet to discuss his signing, it is now a reality that the player's entourage is aware of the interest from Sevilla.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Palma. Lech Poznan are believed to hold a €4 million option to buy but seem to want to lower that figure as that would be almost twice their current transfer record.

Interest from a club like Sevilla might be enough to turn the head of Palma though. The La Liga giants will be hoping to rebuild their squad this summer, having avoided relegation by just one point.
