It looks like the striker is ready to turn down a chance to head to West Ham United in order to stay at Celtic.

In recent years, we have often seen English clubs swoop in and sign some of Celtic's best players. In fact, it would not be much of a surprise if the likes of Daizen Maeda and Arne Engles find themselves playing in England from next season.

It is not just the established professionals though. There have been plenty of youngsters who have chose moves to England over staying in Glasgow.

Ben Doak, currently starting for Scotland at the World Cup, is one name that comes to mind.

Just last summer, West Ham United had managed to sign Daniel Cummings. But this time around, it looks like they will fail to do the same with another one of Celtic's strikers, who seems keen to remain at Parkhead.

According to Football Insider, Callum Osmand is keen to stay at Celtic and fight for his place in Martin O’Neill’s team. This is despite interest from West Ham United.

The report states that Osmand seems likely to snub West Ham's interest in favour of pushing for more playing time at Celtic next season.

When fit and available, Osmand was in O'Neill's plans pretty consistently, even if largely as an option to bring off the bench.

He was impressing early on in the campaign before picking up a long-term injury. When he did return, he was not forgotten.

Once again, O'Neill gave him his chances and Osmand even scored the final goal of the league campaign to secure the title and send Celtic Park into a frenzy.

So, it is easy to see why Osmand might be more keen on staying with Celtic than leaving. He is already part of first-team plans at Parkhead. And if Maeda does exit, there is a possibility that his playing time will increase next season onwards.

Of course, turning down West Ham should be easier after they dropped down to the Championship following relegation. It is no longer a Premier League destination. Not for the time being.

Osmand does seem to have the talent to be a starting-level striker for Celtic one day, if you ask me.

He has already impressed in the limited game time that he has gotten. And one has to imagine that he will get much better once he has more senior-level experience under his belt.

O'Neill continuing could be great for Osmand as well as the 74-year-old Northern Irish manager clearly rates him highly.

So, all things considered, expect to see Osmand in a Celtic jersey next season, even if West Ham come calling at some point this summer.
