Seminoles head coach Luke Loucks continues to announce his portal class. Including raving about Sebastian Rancik.
Florida State men's basketball is building energy for the incoming transfers.
Head coach Luke Loucks already raved about the following newcomers: UNC-Asheville transfer Kameron Taylor plus sibling additions Anthony Robinson II of Missouri and Amare Robinson from Tallahassee State College.
But he spoke glowingly over former Colorado power forward Sebastian Rancik, who joins this deep Seminoles College Basketball Transfer Portal class.
Loucks broke his silence over Rancik's addition via a school news release. He believes the Noles scored a big one here via Boulder.
"Sebastian is a program-changing addition for us," Loucks began. "At 6-foot-11, his versatility really sets him apart – he can stretch the floor with his shooting, put the ball on the deck, and make plays in space."
Loucks dove further on how those traits are not common for someone of Rancik's frame, especially in the college game.
"That combination of size and skill is rare, and it allows him to impact the game from multiple positions," Loucks said.
But this aspect of Rancik's game intrigued Loucks the most as he and the FSU staff scoured around the portal for frontcourt help.
"He also takes on the challenge defensively, as he matched up with some of the nation's best individual players last season with an urgency and passion that is contagious," Loucks said.
Rancik's versatility plans to be unleashed by Loucks and FSU once the Seminoles return to the floor.
"His length and feel make him a perfect fit for how we want to play on both ends," Loucks said.
Lastly, the soon-to-be second-year head coach mapped out this vision for Rancik's future in Tallahassee.
"We see him as a high-level prospect with the tools and upside to continue developing at Florida State, and we're excited about what he brings to our program," Loucks said.
Rancik comes over from arguably, the toughest conference in college basketball the Big 12. He's fresh off averaging 12.3 points per game with 5.5 rebounds a night.
Center could be where Rancik plays even with his forward background. FSU just has incoming recruit Marcis Ponder manning the middle of the court. Rancik can provide depth there with the said versatility Rancik adds over to Tallahassee.
Rancik joins Wake Forest transfer Cooper Schwieger in coming over from a previous power conference.
