The No. 1-ranked University of Connecticut women's basketball team throttled Creighton on Sunday afternoon, winning 95-54 in Omaha, Nebraska.
The Huskies, who are vying for their second straight national championship, continue to look unbeatable this season. They are now 17-0 and a perfect 8-0 inside Big East play.
Sarah Strong, who recently drew comparisons to Hall of Famer Maya Moore, led the Huskies with 18 points in 26 minutes of action. She was 7-of-10 from the floor. Azzi Fudd and Ashlynn Shade also had double-figures, as did freshman Blanca Quinonez.
Quinonez scored 15 points in 19 minutes, connecting on 7-of-11 shots from the floor. And as noted by Talia Goodman of On3, she is also in a very rare class among Power-5 conference first-years.

Quinonez, who hails from Ecuador, is averaging 10.3 ppg on 56.7 percent shooting. She's also 48.5 percent from three-point range.
She's just another standout for head coach Geno Auriemma, joining the likes of Fudd and Strong.
Quinonez and the Huskies will be back in action on Thursday, Jan. 15 when they host Villanova. That day, the Huskies will celebrate the championship teams of 2015 and 2016. The latter group went unbeaten on the season, which is something that the Huskies are trying to do again in this campaign. On that note...
