The University of Washington football program continues to work its way through the transfer portal as it seeks to reload after a 9-4 season in 2025.

We've already heard about the Huskies hosting and offering multiple transfer portal players, and you can add one more to the list, according to Tom Loy of 24/7 Sports.

Sources indicate a couple early schools to watch for Florida transfer WR Naeshaun Montgomery, include Washington, Missouri, Pittsburgh, and UCLA.

He will likely take four trips.

First up: a trip to Washington on Monday.

About Montgomery

With three years of eligibility remaining, Montgomery should be coveted in the portal. A native of Rhode Island, he played his high school ball in Miami, Fla. This year with the Gators, he appeared in four games, getting three catches for 26 yards.

The following comes from his Florida bio page:

Rated as a four-star recruit by ESPN and Rivals as well as by the On3 Industry rankings and the 247 Composite rankings… Ranked as the No. 53 overall recruit while being the No. 12 overall wide receiver and No. 12 player in the state by Rivals for the class of 2025… Slotted in the ESPN Top-300 at No. 113… Totaled 41 catches for 788 yards and 12 touchdowns for 19.2 YPC during his junior and senior seasons… Hauled in 25 passes for 537 yards and four scores as a senior… Chose the Gators over Florida State, LSU, Miami, Ole Miss, Ohio State and Penn State, among others.

About the sales pitch for the Huskies

Montgomery is taking a look at some serious programs, so the recruiting battle could be won on the edges. Here's some of the ways in which the Huskies match up:

1) The QB position is set. At the end of the day, a wide receiver can't perform without a quarterback, and the Huskies have one of the best ones in the nation. Demond Williams Jr. put together a fantastic 2025 season and he just re-committed to Washington for the 2026 campaign. That should give any wide receiver an opportunity for success.

2) A path to the CFP. By playing in the Big Ten, there are multiple opportunities to get to the College Football Playoff. This year, the Big Ten got Ohio State, Indiana and Oregon to the tournament, and if the Huskies can get there, Montgomery will have an opportunity to show his skillset on the biggest stage - and compete for a title.

3) A path to the NFL. All players want to get to the NFL. Washington has shown the ability to get receivers there. Rome Odunze, Ja'lynn Polk and Jalen McMillan have all been drafted recently, and Denzel Boston could one of the first wideouts selected in 2026.
