INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indianapolis Colts received a largely clean bill of health on Friday following their final practice of the week ahead of their matchup with the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday.
Colts head coach Shane Steichen announced that starting wide receiver Alec Pierce cleared the concussion protocol and is "ready to roll." Steichen ruled out backup running back Tyler Goodson (groin) and starting slot cornerback Kenny Moore II (Achilles) for Sunday, while no other players contain injury designations entering the weekend.
The Cardinals have to wait and see if quarterback Kyler Murray (foot) is able to play, after he injured his foot in last week's loss to the Tennessee Titans. Murray didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday, and was a limited participant on Friday. Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters that if Murray is healthy enough to play, he'll play.
Here's how each team's health is shaping up ahead of Sunday afternoon's battle:
FRIDAY
OUT — RB Tyler Goodson (groin), CB Kenny Moore II (Achilles)
With Pierce back, it puts Ashton Dulin back into a reserve role, and AD Mitchell in question of whether he'll be made active.
Goodson remains out after suffering a groin injury two weeks ago against the Los Angeles Rams. He did not return to that game and has not practiced since. The Colts called up running back Ameer Abdullah from the practice squad in Goodson's spot last week.
With Moore still not practicing, it obviously puts his status in doubt for this week. His backup, Mike Hilton, suffered a shoulder injury last week that landed him on the Practice Squad Injured Reserve list, so it would likely be Chris Lammons starting in the slot for the Colts this Sunday.
WEDNESDAY
THURSDAY
FRIDAY
QUESTIONABLE — P Blake Gillikin (back), WR Zay Jones (knee), CB Max Melton (hamstring), QB Kyler Murray (foot), LB Cody Simon (knee), LB Mack Wilson (ankle)
OUT — DT Darius Robinson (pec)
Murray is the most significant development here as Arizona's starting quarterback and one of their top players. If he's unable to play, it'll be a familiar face starting against the Colts, former Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett, who was with the team from 2017-20.
Robinson missed last week's game with his pec injury as well, so they'll continue to be without one of their promising young linemen.
The Colts and Cardinals play this Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis at 1:00 p.m. E.T. on FOX.
