The Dutch defender clears a major hurdle in Eindhoven, leaving only final financial approval from RB Leipzig to seal his high-profile return to the Eredivisie.
Lutsharel Geertruida has successfully completed his PSV medical examination, with the defender's proposed loan move from RB Leipzig now increasingly close to completion.
Geertruida underwent his medical at TopSupport in Eindhoven on Thursday afternoon, clearing another important hurdle in PSV's long-running pursuit of the Netherlands international.
Voetbal International, Eindhovens Dagblad and De Telegraaf all report that the 26-year-old successfully passed the assessment, increasing confidence that the transfer will soon be finalised.

Despite the positive medical, the deal between PSV and RB Leipzig has not yet been completely concluded.
According to Eindhovens Dagblad, the German club still needs to provide definitive confirmation before the loan can officially be completed.
“That according to PSV's club management has quite some hurdles. Although Geertruida in principle is only coming on a loan for a season, this isn't the most straightforward deal,” the newspaper reported, as quoted by PSV Inside.
The remaining complications largely centre on the financial structure of the agreement.
“There are quite a few (salary) costs involved and the option to buy has been carefully negotiated. At the same time, the final approval by RB Leipzig has been taking its time for a while now,” Eindhovens Dagblad added.
PSV Set for Major Defensive Reinforcement
The proposed agreement would see Geertruida join PSV on loan for the season, with the Eindhoven club having negotiated an option to make the transfer permanent.
The defender has already reached a personal agreement with PSV and has been keen on the move, while Leipzig had initially been reluctant to sanction a loan after preferring a permanent sale.
That position has since softened, bringing the deal close to completion.

“The total outlay is around 6 million euros, according to German sources, with which Leipzig can cross out this season's complete salary of the defender,” the newspaper reported.
With Geertruida's medical successfully completed, only the remaining agreement between PSV and RB Leipzig stands between the former Feyenoord captain and an official move to Eindhoven.
The transfer is therefore increasingly close, although PSV must still wait for the final green light from Leipzig before Geertruida can officially become a PSV player.
