PSV remain confident they can bring Lutsharel Geertruida to Eindhoven on loan from RB Leipzig. The defender also prefers a temporary move, leaving the clubs to find a compromise before the transfer window closes.
PSV remain hopeful of completing a deal for Lutsharel Geertruida, with the Eindhoven club retaining “full confidence” that a loan agreement can eventually be reached with RB Leipzig.
According to PSV watcher Rik Elfrink of Eindhovens Dagblad, there is already a personal agreement between Geertruida and PSV over the framework of a temporary move. The remaining obstacle is therefore an agreement between the two clubs.

The 26-year-old defender is also understood to prefer a loan rather than a permanent transfer at this stage of his career. German reports, including those from Bild, have previously indicated that Geertruida does not currently want to leave Leipzig on a permanent basis.
That position explains why PSV continue to believe there is a route to an agreement.
Geertruida is keen on the opportunity to restart his career in Eindhoven, where a season competing for the Eredivisie title and playing Champions League football could offer him an important platform.
A personal agreement with PSV has already been reached, meaning the player’s position appears clear. The focus is now on whether Leipzig can be persuaded to change its stance.
Leipzig Still Prefer A Sale
RB Leipzig currently favour a permanent transfer and are reluctant to sanction a loan deal. The German club are seeking a substantial fee for the former Feyenoord player, while PSV would prefer to bring him in temporarily.
That difference has left the deal in a waiting phase.
Elfrink reports that “at PSV, there is still full confidence that a loan deal can be arranged.” The Eindhoven club's management intends to continue pushing for Geertruida until the end of the transfer window.
There is still no certainty that an agreement will be reached, but the situation could change quickly if Leipzig decide to engage more seriously with PSV's proposal.
“If Leipzig moves in this direction, it can quickly happen,” according to the latest assessment from Eindhovens Dagblad, as relayed by PSV Inside.
PSV Face Competition
PSV are not the only Dutch club monitoring the situation. Feyenoord remain interested, while Ajax have also been informed about the defender's availability.
For PSV, however, the priority remains clear. The club wants Geertruida to strengthen a defence that has already come under scrutiny at the start of the season.
With the player reportedly open to the move and a personal agreement already in place, the final piece of the puzzle is Leipzig's willingness to compromise on its preference for a permanent sale.
