PSV Eindhoven enter the final stretch of the summer transfer window with several key decisions still unresolved. Lutsharel Geertruida remains the priority defensive target, while the futures of Joey Veerman, Sergiño Dest and others could shape the squad before September 2.

PSV have endured a turbulent start to the 2026/27 season, and the final weeks of the transfer window could prove decisive for Peter Bosz and the club's recruitment team.

Results have been disappointing, and Bosz admitted on Friday that the transfer window itself has become a “source of unrest". Players can continue to move until September 2, ensuring that uncertainty remains around several members of the squad.

The lack of incoming transfers has also frustrated sections of the PSV support. While the club cannot publicly reveal every detail of its recruitment strategy, the summer has produced relatively few additions, and several deals have collapsed late in the process.

Sano And Kostic Arrive, But Geertruida Remains The Priority

Kodai Sano has joined PSV and is already part of the squad for Saturday's trip to Excelsior. Filip Kostic's arrival had also been expected for several weeks, while Sven Mijnans completed his move within days of the first reports linking him with Eindhoven.

Jong PSV have also added 18-year-old striker Keziah Oteng-Mensah.

According to PSV watcher Rik Elfrink of Eindhovens Dagblad, the Eindhoven club are also interested in 17-year-old Mikkel Bro Hansen, who currently plays for the Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt.

Bro Hansen remains a raw talent, but he has developed further than his age might suggest. He has already made regular substitute appearances for Bodø/Glimt's first team, giving him experience at senior level despite being only 17.

However, the biggest unresolved issue remains Lutsharel Geertruida. PSV regard the former Feyenoord defender as their leading option to strengthen a defence that has struggled for stability.

The Eindhoven club have reached a personal agreement with Geertruida over a potential loan, and the player is reportedly keen on the move. RB Leipzig, however, continue to examine whether they can sell the Netherlands international permanently.

A figure of around €18 million has been discussed, but a permanent transfer is currently not PSV's preferred route. Reports from Germany have also indicated that Geertruida would rather spend a season on loan.

Ajax and Feyenoord have also shown interest, although PSV are understood to be pursuing the deal more seriously.

Veerman And Dest Decisions Loom

The transfer window could also bring clarity over several PSV players with departure clauses.

Mauro Júnior has already confirmed that he will remain in Eindhoven. Sergiño Dest's clause expires this Saturday, after which PSV will regain control over his transfer situation.

Joey Veerman faces a similar deadline next week. The midfielder has been available for around €20 million throughout the summer, but no suitable buyer has yet emerged.

Borussia Dortmund have been linked with the 27-year-old, although the interest currently appears less concrete than initially reported. No contact has been made with PSV, meaning any potential move would have to develop quickly.

Once Veerman's clause expires, PSV are understood to want to keep him. With the deadline approaching, replacing such an important midfielder would also be difficult.

Other Players Could Still Move

Geertruida is expected to be the headline addition if PSV can finally reach an agreement with Leipzig, but further movement cannot be ruled out.

There is interest in Esmir Bajraktarevic, including from Germany, after the winger recently changed agents. Ryan Flamingo is also being monitored by Benfica, who are considering whether to make a move.

For PSV, the next few weeks will therefore involve more than simply adding players. The club must also determine which departures to allow, while Bosz attempts to settle a squad that has yet to find its rhythm.

With the transfer window closing on September 2, there is still time for significant change. But the pressure on PSV's recruitment operation is already considerable.
