PSV forward Couhaib Driouech appears set to secure a permanent move away from Eindhoven after his earlier transfer to Rangers FC collapsed.

According to PSV watcher Rik Elfrink of Eindhovens Dagblad, PSV and Celta Vigo have reached a verbal agreement over an €8 million transfer for the left-winger.

Driouech must now agree personal terms with the Spanish club and complete his medical examination. If both stages are completed without complications, the 23-year-old will become a Celta player.

The development represents a significant change from earlier expectations. Driouech had been expected to be included in Peter Bosz's squad for Sunday's meeting with Groningen.

However, he was ultimately left out after PSV and Celta reached their agreement.

Driouech had previously expressed a desire to move to Spain, only for Rangers to make a late attempt to secure his signature earlier this month. The Scottish club offered the forward an attractive contract and took him to Glasgow, but the deal collapsed after a medical assessment reportedly indicated that he could face around six weeks on the sidelines.

No similar issue subsequently emerged at PSV, where Driouech returned to training and appeared fit.

Now, with Celta having agreed terms with PSV, the winger is once again on the verge of completing a transfer.

Driouech's potential departure would take PSV's total transfer income for the summer beyond €80 million.

The reigning Eredivisie champions have already sold several players, including Ismael Saibari for €53 million, Joey Veerman for €22 million and Joël Drommel for €0.5 million.

Driouech's €8 million move would add another significant amount to that total.

PSV are also still looking for solutions for other players who are not central to Bosz's plans. Isaac Babadi has been permitted to leave, although there is currently no clarity over his next destination.

Adamo Nagalo is likewise not part of the plans for the season, but physical problems have complicated the defender's prospects of securing a move.

With Driouech apparently heading for the exit, PSV could look internally for part of his replacement.

Youngster Amir Bouhamdi is regarded as a promising option, with the player and club both backing his development.

Bosz would then have four established wingers in Ivan Perišić, Dennis Man, Ruben van Bommel and Esmir Bajraktarević, with Bouhamdi as a developing alternative.

The coming 10 days are expected to provide greater clarity over PSV's final squad composition, but Driouech's latest omission suggests his Eindhoven chapter could now be approaching its conclusion.
