West Ham United have made a £15 million offer for former PSV striker Joël Piroe, with the forward keen to leave Leeds United. PSV could also benefit financially if the deal is completed.
West Ham United have made a £15 million offer for Joël Piroe, with the former PSV striker now in talks over a potential move from Leeds United to the London club.
According to PSV watcher Rik Elfrink of Eindhovens Dagblad, Piroe's management confirmed the offer on Sunday morning. The 25-year-old wants to leave Leeds, and the possibility of a transfer to West Ham appears significant.
Piroe's representatives are already in England and are hoping to complete the business side of the proposed move quickly, with negotiations between the parties ongoing.

PSV could benefit from the transfer for a second time.
The Eindhoven club is expected to receive around €500,000 if Piroe completes his move to West Ham. PSV previously earned approximately €1.5 million when the striker left Swansea City for Leeds three years ago.
That means Piroe's successive transfers in England have continued to provide financial returns for his former club.
Piroe is now potentially heading for his third English club in succession after Swansea and Leeds, with West Ham offering him another opportunity in the Premier League.

The proposed move also means Troy Parrott will not be joining West Ham.
The London club had been interested in the AZ striker, but Voetbal International reports that West Ham did not come close to meeting AZ's asking price.
Parrott was absent from AZ's squad for Saturday's 1-4 victory over FC Utrecht, while teammate Mexx Meerdink confirmed afterwards that the Irishman was on his way to a new club. That destination, however, will not be West Ham.
West Ham subsequently turned their attention to Piroe, with reports suggesting the English club had already considered an offer worth around €17 million.
The development also casts fresh light on reports of PSV's interest in Parrott. As relayed by PSV Inside, PSV have previously been linked with the striker, although the financial demands involved would make a deal difficult.
PSV Could Revisit AZ Interest
With Alassane Pléa now sidelined for an extended period, PSV continue to assess their attacking options.
The club have already been pursuing young Norwegian striker Mikkel Bro Hansen of Bodø/Glimt, but a deal remains difficult.
Should AZ eventually lower their asking price for Parrott, PSV could potentially reconsider their interest as the transfer window approaches its conclusion.
For now, however, the focus is on Piroe and West Ham. If the proposed £15m transfer goes through, PSV will once again benefit from the career progression of a striker who left Eindhoven several years ago.
