Can Dallas Keuchel Make His Way Back to Majors?
The Athletics have signed former Cy Young Award winner Dallas Keuchel to a minor-league contract. He'll reportedly start in Triple-A at this time. Keuchel has been around the MLB world, and out of it, during his career. Obviously, his biggest moment was back in 2015, where he won the Cy Young Award while pitching for the Houston Astros. Yet Keuchel has had peaks and valleys, good times and not-so-good times. Could Keuchel find himself in the Athletics' bullpen before this season is officially over? Just recently, the Athletics put starting pitcher J.T. Ginn and relief pitchers Mark Leiter Jr. and Justin Sterner on the Injured List. This will be something to keep an eye on, Athletics fans.

Braves Keep Athletics Winless in 2026
Well, the Athletics definitely didn't want to start the 2026 MLB season without a win in their first four games. On Monday night, the Athletics went up against the pesky Atlanta Braves. In the end, it was the Braves who came out on top with a 4-0 victory. The Athletics combined for seven hits, but couldn't get a run across the plate. Jacob Lopez got the start, and his first loss, for the Athletics. In four innings, he gave up five hits, three runs (all earned), walked five, and didn't record a strikeout. Lopez's ERA now sits at 6.75. The Braves took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on Matt Olson's RBI double that drove in Ronald Acuña Jr. Then, still in the first, Mauricio Dubón singled to left and drove in Drake Baldwin and Olson scores. Atlanta added another run in the eighth and that put the wraps on a Braves win. Bryce Elder worked six innings of five-hit ball to pick up his first victory. Athletics Lose to Blue Jays in Extra Innings
Athletics fans have watched their team unable to close out the Toronto Blue Jays in two straight games. It's a tough way for a team to start a new season, but that's the reality right now. The Blue Jays won 8-7 in 11 innings at Rogers Centre on Saturday. In the bottom of the 11th inning, Ernie Clement singled to left off of Athletics reliever Luis Medina. Nathan Lukes came home and the Rogers Centre crowd exploded in glee. The Athletics were up 6-5 in the bottom of the ninth inning, with one out, Alejandro Kirk homered to left field. That made it 6-6. In the top of the 10th inning, Tyler Soderstrom grounded into a double play. Nick Kurtz, though, reached third base. Brent Rooker followed with an RBI single, putting the Athletics up 7-6. Then, in the Blue Jays' half of the 10th inning, Addison Barger hit a sacrifice fly to tie things up at 7-7. All that set up the 11th-inning activities. George Springer's double in the third inning gave Toronto an early 1-0 lead. Soderstrom's double in the top of the sixth inning tied the game at 1-1. Then, Toronto's Dalton Varsho's RBI single gave the Blue Jays a 2-1 lead. The Athletics' Denzel Clarke got a hit off of Toronto pitcher Brandon Little, bringing home Jeff McNeil to tie the game at 2-2. The Athletics' Shea Langeliers smoked a grand-slam home run, giving the Athletics a 6-2 lead. After that, though, the game went back and forth until Toronto reigned supreme. Athletics Lose Opener In Heartbreak
Shea Langeliers was the man of the night for the Athletics, hitting two home runs against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre in Toronto. Too bad it didn't help as the Blue Jays rallied in the bottom of the ninth to pick up a 3-2 victory on Friday night. Langeliers hit his first home run in the fourth inning, then tied the game in the top of the ninth with a solo shot. It tied things up at 2-2, but the Blue Jays had the final say. With two outs in the ninth and the Athletics' Justin Sterner on the mound, Ernie Clement doubled and Kazuma Okamoto moved to third base. Then, the Blue Jays' Andrés Giménez connected on a game-winning single to right. Okamoto scored, setting off a wild celebration after the comeback victory. It was a tough loss for the Athletics, but they did put up a fight. Athletics starter Luis Severino worked five innings, allowing three hits and two runs (both earned), walking three, and struck out three. Blue Jay starter Kevin Gausman was electric over six innings. Gausman allowed just one hit, Langelier's solo homer, and one earned run. He struck out 11 Athletics in the outing, picking up his first win. Blue Jays reliever Jeff Hoffman earned his first save. The Athletics and Blue Jays go at it again on Saturday at Rogers Centre.

Athletics Open 2026 MLB Season in Toronto
After watching other teams take the field on Wednesday and Thursday for their MLB openers, the Athletics get their turn at it on Friday. Athletics Wrap Up February Schedule With Giants
The Athletics are finishing up their February schedule of Cactus League games on Saturday as they face the San Francisco Giants. Right now, the Athletics are 1-5 in Cactus League play. On Friday, the Kansas City Royals defeated the Athletics 7-6. Max Muncy went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, and three RBIs against the Royals. Muncy also scored a run in the loss. Let's see if the Athletics can end this portion of their schedule on a winning note.

The team probably is getting some work in on the baseball diamonds. But there is no game on Wednesday, The Athletics will be back at it in Cactus League play on Thursday against the Texas Rangers.

Athletics Take It on the Chin Against Brewers
It wasn't a pretty sight for Athletics fans on Tuesday. The Milwaukee Brewers totally dominated the Athletics, posting a 10-0 Cactus League victory. For the Athletics, they are still looking for their first Cactus League win. The team has a day off from Cactus League play on Wednesday. They'll get back to it on Thursday when the Athletics battle the Texas Rangers in an early test between two American League West Division rivals.

Priority Access for Athletics Tickets Ends Tuesday
Athletics fans in Las Vegas, or looking to visit the Athletics once the new stadium is built, the ballclub has a message. On Tuesday, the ballclub announced in a post on X that Priority Access for tickets will end on Tuesday, February 24. Per the ballclub's website keeping up with ballpark construction in Sin City, a statement was posted reminding fans about the Priority Access list. "Join the Priority Access list for exclusive early access to tickets in the new ballpark," the website stated. "Be among the first to purchase before the general public, with a dedicated representative to guide you through ticket options and answer questions every step of the way. Limited availability." OK Athletics fans, get to work.

Athletics Fall Short Against Giants
The Athletics are still looking for their first Spring Training victory. On Monday, the San Francisco Giants defeated the Athletics 6-2, making the Athletics 0-3 in Cactus League play. Athletics fans, not only in Sacramento, California, where the team will play again this season, but also in Las Vegas, the team's future home, want to see a win or two get on the board. The Athletics will try and get into the win column on Tuesday as they play the Milwaukee Brewers.

Athletics Square Off Against Giants on Monday
After getting shutout in a Cactus League game on Sunday, the Athletics are going to look to get some runs, and a win, on Monday. The Athletics will play the San Francisco Giants in a Cactus League matchup between the old-school Bay Area competitors. Of course, the Athletics are playing ball in Sacramento, California, while their new stadium is being built in Las Vegas. On Sunday, the Athletics lost to the Cleveland Guardians, 6-0.

Athletics Get Blown Out by White Sox
It was not a great day for pitcher Jack Perkins and the Athletics on Saturday. The Chicago White Sox hit Perkins hard, and the ChiSox went on to win 11-2 in a Cactus League showdown over the Athletics. It was the Athletics' Cactus League opener at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona. The Athletics scored a run in the third inning as Brett Harris crossed the plate. In the fifth inning, Brian Serven doubled to right field, scoring Denzel Clarke. Tommy White went to third base on the double, too. Perkins only lasted two-thirds of an inning, giving up two runs (both earned) on two hits, two walks, and one strikeout. Chen Zhong-Ao Zhuang followed Perkins and allowed one hit and one run in 1 1/3 innings. Wei-En Lin came in and gave up two runs (both earned) on three hits. The Athletics are back in action on Sunday against the Cleveland Guardians.

Athletics Take Field for Spring Training Opener
On Saturday, the Athletics open their Cactus League schedule against the Chicago White Sox. This marks the first time that Athletics manager Mark Kotsay will be able to see his players take the field for action against an opponent. The White Sox won their Cactus League opener on Friday. Not only will Athletics fans in Sacramento, California, be interested in this game, but so will the residents of Las Vegas, Nevada. Their new MLB team will play this Spring Training season and get even closer to getting into their new home ballpark that's being built.

One of the great things about Spring Training is that it lets media outlets have a little more time with players than usual. Bob Melvin rejoins Athletics
Guess who's back, Athletics fans? Bob Melvin. On Thursday, the Athletics announced in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that Melvin will take on the role of special assistant for baseball operations. Melvin finished up two less-than-impressive seasons as manager of the San Francisco Giants in 2025. The Giants finished 81-81 and in third place in the National League West Division. Melvin spent 11 seasons as Athletics manager, leading the team to four 90-plus-win seasons in his tenure. In 2021, Melvin led the team to an 86-76 record, but was let go. Now, he's coming back in the hopes of helping the franchise get back into winning form.

If you want to be on the Priority List for tickets at the new ballpark, then purchase Priority Access for $19.01. Gage Jump looking good at Spring Training
Don't go to sleep on pitcher Gage Jump, who turned some heads at Spring Training in Mesa, Ariz. Athletics manager Mark Kotsay was very impressed by what he saw Jump do in a bullpen session. "His bullpen was really good," Kotsay told MLB.com in an article about Jump. "He knows what he wants to do. He’s very advanced in terms of preparation and knowledge of what he feels like he does well. … It’s great to see a young pitcher have an understanding of his abilities." Athletics Pick Up A.J. Causey from Royals
Last week, the Athletics swung a deal with the Kansas City Royals where both teams exchanged pitchers. The Athletics picked up A.J. Causey, a minor-league right-hander, from the Royals for right-hander Mitch Spence. After the deal, the Royals designated Spence for assignment.
