The winger pivots to La Liga after a collapsed Rangers move, with the Spanish side finalising an €8 million deal to secure his signature until 2030.

Celta de Vigo are closing in on Couhaib Driouech after reaching an agreement with PSV.

The winger has agreed personal terms on a long-term contract, with his medical examination now scheduled in Spain.

Couhaib Driouech is edging closer to leaving PSV for La Liga after Celta de Vigo reached an agreement with the Dutch champions over the 24-year-old winger.

According to Voetbal International, Driouech has virtually agreed personal terms with Celta and has given his approval to a contract running until mid-2030. PSV watcher Rik Elfrink of Eindhovens Dagblad reports that the transfer fee is expected to be around €7-8 million.

The final paperwork is now the key step before Driouech can travel to Spain for his medical examination, which is provisionally scheduled for Tuesday.

Driouech Set For Spain After Rangers Collapse

The move comes after Driouech's proposed transfer to Rangers collapsed earlier this month.

The Moroccan had already travelled to Glasgow and was on the verge of completing the move, but Rangers pulled out after their medical team concluded that the forward could be sidelined for several weeks with an injury.

PSV disagreed with that assessment. Driouech subsequently returned to Eindhoven and quickly resumed training with the squad.

His return, however, proved brief. PSV left him out of the matchday squad for Sunday's 5-1 victory over FC Groningen, with the omission understood to be connected to the agreement reached with Celta.

The Spanish club has now moved to take advantage of the situation and secure the winger's signature.

The timing is significant. PSV now head into difficult away fixtures against FC Utrecht on August 30 and Ajax on September 5 with momentum, confidence and plenty of attacking encouragement from their biggest league victory of the season so far.

Final Details Before Medical

Driouech and his representatives are understood to be taking care to ensure everything is formally documented before the transfer is completed.

Elfrink reports that “Driouech and his management do not want to be caught off guard, and therefore everything must first be properly documented today.”

Once the paperwork is finalised, a definitive agreement can be reached, and Driouech will then travel to Spain for his medical.

Celta's proposed contract would keep him at the club until 2030, although Elfrink describes it as a four-year deal, with the transfer fee expected to fall in the €7-8 million range.

For PSV, the departure would bring an end to a complicated period for Driouech, who first saw his move to Rangers collapse before quickly finding another route to Spain.
