PSV’s frantic market sprint intensifies as the club secures Danish youngster Mikkel Bro Hansen and Ayoni Santos, cementing an ambitious multi-million-euro recruitment drive before the transfer window shuts.
PSV are nearing another major transfer, with Danish teenage striker Mikkel Bro Hansen set to join from Bodø/Glimt as the Eindhoven club continues an ambitious week in the transfer market.
According to a report by PSV Watcher Rik Elfrink of Eindhovens Dagblad, PSV have reached an agreement for 17-year-old Mikkel Bro Hansen, according to reliable sources in the football world. The Danish striking talent is expected to move from Bodø/Glimt to Eindhoven after PSV worked for several months to complete the deal.
The transfer is now expected to go through, although several formalities still need to be completed before the Dutch transfer window closes at midnight on Wednesday.
PSV are reportedly paying around €3 million for Bro Hansen after negotiating Bodø/Glimt down from their initial demands. The teenager is expected to sign a three-year contract and travel to Eindhoven for his medical examination.
Bro Hansen is regarded as one of the top young talents in European football and has already shown his ability at the international level with Denmark.
PSV Win Race for Danish Talent
Reaching an agreement has taken a long time.
Bro Hansen’s contract in Norway was approaching its expiry date, and Bodø/Glimt had offered the teenager a new deal. However, after discussions with his agent and family, the striker decided against extending his stay.
Several clubs were monitoring the youngster, but his professional and personal entourage ultimately considered PSV the best destination.
Over the past few weeks, negotiations have fluctuated considerably, but PSV have now managed to secure an agreement with Bodø/Glimt.
Bro Hansen is viewed as a striker for the future, although PSV intend all of their new arrivals to have a potential role within the first-team squad.
The three-year contract is linked to his age. Bro Hansen does not turn 18 until January 2027, meaning PSV cannot offer him the same five-year contract available to players who have reached the age of majority.
Santos Undergoes PSV Medical
PSV are also moving closer to completing the signing of Ayoni Santos from Sparta.
The midfielder, who can also operate on the wing, reported to PSV medical partner TopSupport on Tuesday for his mandatory examination.
As reported by Rik Elfrink, Santos is set to sign a five-year contract in Eindhoven, with the transfer worth around €5 million.
The 21-year-old is expected to replace Joël van den Berg in PSV’s squad, with Van den Berg closing in on a move to Celtic.
Director of Football Earnest Stewart has been working quickly as PSV look to complete four incoming transfers this week.
Sami Ouaissa is arriving from NEC for approximately €9 million, while Sam Lammers is set to return from FC Twente for around €2 million.
Santos will cost approximately €5 million, with Bro Hansen adding another €3 million to the club's spending.
The four deals underline PSV's desire to strengthen the squad across several positions while also adding younger talent for the future.
With Ouaissa and Lammers already moving towards Eindhoven, Santos undergoing his medical, and Bro Hansen now on his way to the Netherlands, PSV are entering the final hours of the transfer window with substantial activity still taking place.
