Peter Bosz regains key reinforcements as the Eredivisie giants look to capitalize on European momentum and narrow the gap during Sunday’s high-stakes showdown against the league leaders.
PSV have received a timely boost ahead of Sunday’s Eredivisie showdown with Feyenoord, with five players returning to full training on Friday as Peter Bosz prepares his side for a crucial fixture in the title race.
Ruben van Bommel, Ricardo Pepi, Sam Lammers, Sami Ouaissa and Kiliann Sildillia all joined the first-team squad in Eindhoven after spending time on the sidelines in recent weeks. Their return offers Bosz more options at a demanding stage of the season, although the manager stopped short of confirming who would be available for selection against the league leaders.
The positive news follows PSV’s important 1-0 Champions League victory over FC Porto in Portugal, a result that lifted the mood around the squad after consecutive defeats had raised questions about the team’s form.

PSV’s treatment room is beginning to clear, with Jerdy Schouten, Paul Wanner, Adamo Nagalo and Alassane Pléa now the only players remaining on the injury list.
Wanner is expected to be the first of that group to return, although he is still likely to be sidelined for several more weeks. The availability of the five returning players, meanwhile, gives Bosz greater depth as PSV look to build on their European result.
The manager acknowledged the importance of the Porto win in lifting spirits ahead of another demanding test.
“Your mood is inevitably shaped by a good result,” Bosz said, explaining how a positive performance can feel very different when it is not accompanied by a victory.
He pointed to PSV’s earlier defeat against RB Leipzig as an example, noting that even a good display can leave players disappointed when the result goes against them.
Bosz also recognised the challenge posed by Feyenoord, who have enjoyed an impressive league campaign.
“They’ve only drawn twice and have won every away game,” he said,as relayed by PSV Watcher Rik Elfrink of Eindhovens Dagblad.
Sunday’s meeting pits the team at the top of the table against the side in third, making it an important encounter for both clubs.
“It’s the number one team against the number three, definitely a top-tier clash,” Bosz remarked.
He also recalled the corresponding period last season, when PSV were trailing Feyenoord and many observers expected the Rotterdam club to challenge for the title. That situation changed quickly, and Bosz noted that Feyenoord have since adjusted aspects of their approach, including the positioning of Luciano Valente on the left flank.

One of PSV’s main selection questions concerns the striker position, with Sven Mijnans suspended for the Feyenoord match.
Bosz has several possible replacements, including Ivan Perisic, Esmir Bajraktarevic, Mikkel Bro Hansen and Pepi, whose return to training could prove particularly significant. The manager suggested that his list of alternatives extends beyond those names.
“I could name three or four more options,” he said.
Bosz added that he already has a preferred plan but wants to complete his analysis before confirming the final selection.
“I actually already know what I’m going to do. Following the match against Porto, it’s just a matter of fine-tuning the details that can make a real difference.”
He explained that John Feskens had prepared an analysis, which he would discuss with the rest of the coaching staff before making a final decision.

There is also a decision to make in central defence, where Armando Obispo could return to the starting lineup despite Yarek Gasiorowski’s strong performance against Porto.
Bosz explained that Obispo had played extensively and was dealing with minor physical complaints, making it too risky to start him in Portugal after only two days of rest.
Gasiorowski took his opportunity and impressed the PSV manager, who praised both his performance and his attitude since arriving at the club.
“He did an excellent job and has kept working incredibly hard the entire time,” Bosz said.
The manager also highlighted the young defender’s ability to settle into a new environment despite arriving at PSV at the age of 21 without speaking English.
“The way he handled himself from the start is truly impressive,” Bosz added.

Bosz also expressed his satisfaction with Mauro Júnior and Kodai Sano, who have been occupying key roles in PSV’s midfield.
For the manager, the priority is finding the right balance between energy and experience, ensuring his midfielders can recognise when to press forward and when to hold their positions.
“We need balance there. Players who have experience and can recognise game situations. Sometimes you need to hold your position. Other times, you don’t,” he explained.
With PSV eager to return to winning ways in the league, Bosz insisted that recent setbacks had not shaken his confidence in the squad.
“We didn’t have to lose in Leipzig, and against ADO, we wouldn’t have lost if we had kept all eleven men on the pitch,” he said.
The Porto victory has provided renewed momentum, and PSV now have the chance to carry that confidence into a potentially decisive meeting with Feyenoord.
Bosz remains confident in the depth at his disposal, even as he acknowledges the demands of a congested schedule. With five players back in full training and several selection decisions still to be made, PSV head into Sunday with their options improving at an important moment in the season.
