The Packers kick off their 2026 season against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, Sept. 13, from U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Talk about pressure. The Vikings are certainly in a transitional place as a franchise, but getting going against an NFC North foe ratchets up the intensity of this season from the get-go.
It's a big season for the Packers. There's a belief that they're in a Super Bowl window right now, which means every single game is important. That means the intensity will be there in Week 2 at MetLife Stadium against the New York Jets and it will certainly be there in Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons, when the Packers will play at Lambeau Field for the first time in 2026.

Absolutely, you can make that case, but it's even more true when you've got a talented center.
We're talking about the brains of the offensive line operation here. The center is the guy responsible for making all of the coverage and blocking calls and checks. He also touches the ball the same amount as the quarterback, which many consider to be the most important position in all of sports, let alone in football.
Do the Packers have the most talented center in the league in Sean Rhyan? No, unfortunatly they don't.
Do they have a guy they trust, though? More importantly, do they have a guy who has the trust of quarterback Jordan Love?
Absolutely.
Checking in at 6-foot-5, 321 pounds, Rhyan started his NFL career as a guard as a third-round pick out of UCLA in 2022. When Elgton Jenkins went down last season with a season-ending injury, the Packers plucked Rhyan off the bench and threw him in at center, and he flourished.
He adapted to playing center, really for the first time in his football career, and the Packers rewarded him with a three-year, $33 million contract extension.
2025 Synopsis:
After starting all 17 games at right guard in 2024, Rhyan was platooned with Jordan Morgan and was ultimately benched to a backup role. As mentioned, he took over at center in Week 10 and held on to that position for the rest of the season.
PFF gave him a bad pass-blocking grade (40th amongst 40 qualified centers) but liked him as a run blocker (17th). He allowed 28 total pressures (including one sack and eight hits) and was flagged for five penalties.
