With a Super Bowl window wide open, Jordan Love looks to cement his MVP trajectory and prove that the Green Bay Packers' quarterback dynasty is far from over.
We're officially 2 days from the start of the 2026 NFL season for the Green Bay Packers. Whether you're ready or not, football season is here.
The Packers kick off their 2026 season against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, Sept. 13, from U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Talk about pressure. The Vikings are certainly in a transitional place as a franchise, but getting going against an NFC North foe ratchets up the intensity of this season from the get-go.
It's a big season for the Packers. There's a belief that they're in a Super Bowl window right now, which means every single game is important. That means the intensity will be there in Week 2 at MetLife Stadium against the New York Jets and it will certainly be there in Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons, when the Packers will play at Lambeau Field for the first time in 2026.
There's going to be a lot of proverbial ink spilled on this 2026 season and we here at PackersRoundtable hope that you spend as much time as possible with us talking about the ins and outs and ups and downs of the Packers.
As we prepare for the 2026 season, though, we're going to kick things off with a rankings series looking at the Top 50 Packers heading into the 2025 season.
At No. 2 we have quarterback Jordan Love
Ranking the Top 50 Packers Heading Into 2026: No. 2, Jordan Love

Mandatory Credit: Ron Chenoy-Imagn Images. It would seem unfair if the Packers went from two straight Hall of Fame quarterbacks in Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers to an MVP-adjacent quarterback in Jordan Love, but life can sometimes be unfair.
The Packers selected Love out of Utah State with the 26th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and, as they did with Rodgers, gave him a three-year apprenticeship behind one of the greatest of all time.
By the second half of year one as the starter, it was clear that he had "it". In year two, he struggled with injuries and finding "it" consistently. Last season, Love flirted with being in the MVP conversation and there's a realistic chance he could end up being a Top 5 quarterback in the league in 2026.
In 48 career regular-season starts, Love is 27-20-1 and has thrown for 11,119 yards and 81 touchdowns compared to 29 interceptions.
He's got an incredible arm that can make any throw, he's an above-average athlete, and he has total command of Matt LaFleur's offense.
Love is the real deal.
2025 Synopsis:
In 15 regular-season starts, Love completed 66.3% of his passes for 3,381 yards and 23 touchdowns with just six interceptions. He averaged 225.4 yards per game, an average passer rating of 101.2 and an average QBR of 72.7.
Per PFF grades, Love took huge jumps from 2024 to 2025. He went from a passing grade of 74.3 to 88.7 and a "big-time throw rate" of 3.4% to 5.9%.
In the playoff loss to the Chicago Bears, Love was far from the reason the Packers lost. He completed 24-of-46 passes for 323 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions.
Notable Quotables:
"To watch where he came from to where he is now, I don't know if anybody would have guessed that he could come that far. That's a credit to him. Certainly, I think it was a benefit not having to be rushed into it. You build up a bunch of scars. And getting to sit back and learn from a guy like Aaron, I think, was extremely beneficial. I think that's a big reason as to why he's been able to do that at such a high level." - Matt LaFleur
Projected Role in 2026:
Love will start every game and will be one of three players with a real shot to win the NFL MVP award in 2026.
